MAKE IT RELATABLE

During initial research the team realized our demographic was not interested in some flashy new technology that had a touch screen. So we aligned with all stakeholders on an aesthetic direction that was based on primitive shapes to help create a form that was more relatable to the user.

A UI WITH NO SCREEN?

Since there was no screen, one of the biggest challenges with the device was users need to sit within range of the device for a 5 minute period when uploading their data. To ensure our solutions were solving this the team tested prototypes with users in their homes to gather feedback.

LIGHTS AND SOUNDS

After multiple rounds of research we designed something that was more approachable using a strategic LED lights and sounds user interface on a simple and unobtrusive form.
